Statement on Coronavirus
Regularly updated information about COVID-19 is available on the International SOS website (Miami’s membership number is 11BCAS000010) and on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website.
Standard travel advice includes:
- Pack some home COVID test kits so you can test whenever you suspect exposure or feel symptomatic
- Maintain good personal hygiene. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer when handwashing is not an option.
- Wear a well-fitted mask (preferably N95 or KN95), especially in indoor public spaces
- Practice social distancing of at least six feet, especially in indoor public spaces
- Do not visit live animal markets or farms
- Stay home when you are sick, and keep away from people who are obviously sick
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your arm when you cough or sneeze; if you cover with a tissue, throw the tissue away and wash your hands; if you cover with your hand, wash immediately afterwards
- If you are ill, contact a medical provider and your program provider immediately.
Global Initiatives will make decisions regarding our travel abroad programs in consultation with the university administration and with our global partners.
