Notice: Sync your account on Feb. 19

Beginning in February, IT Services will be turning on a login interrupt screen for all Miami users. The purpose of this screen is to sync all faculty, staff, and student accounts with our new Identity and Access Management system, RapidIdentity, which we are working hard to prepare for a March 25, 2024, launch.

Faculty, staff, and students will all see this interrupt screen when you log in on February 19, 2024.

This interrupt will appear upon login to any Miami systems (including myMiami, Miami Mail, Zoom, Canvas, etc.) asking for you to “sync your account.” You will then be directed to log in again, after which point they will be allowed through to the app they were trying to access. The content of the interrupt is as follows:

ACTION REQUIRED: In order to continue to access all Miami resources (e.g., myMiami, Miami Mail, Canvas, etc.), you must sync your account in the system. After March 25, 2024, if you have not synced your account, you will need to recover your account by using a valid password recovery option. Please note: Secret questions are no longer a valid password recovery option. Please set either a phone number or personal email address at MiamiOH.edu/password before March 25. The “Sync Account” button below will redirect you to log in a second time. This is by design. Once you log in, your Miami account will be synced. That is all you need to do! Thank you for your help!

The text reads as follows:

After March 25, 2024, if you have not synced your account, you will need to recover your account by using a valid password recovery option. The “Sync Account” button below will redirect you to log in a second time. This is by design. Once you log in, your Miami account will be synced. That is all you need to do! Thank you for your help!

Please note that you will be allowed to “skip” this step and go straight to your Miami service, but taking the extra couple of seconds to log in again and sync your account will help us immensely and will keep you from having to recover your account in March. Thank you in advance!

If you "skip for now," you will be asked to do this again the next time you log in.

We are excited to be moving forward with the launch of RapidIdentity, and this is an important first step!
