New bids to be requested for Armstrong Student Center
Contracts will be rebid for the Armstrong Student Center. The base bids for the project came in $7.8 million over the estimated $30.8 million price. State law does not allow the university to accept bids that are more than 10 percent over an estimated cost.

Saturday Art at Miami begins this weekend
Experience a range of creative activities and projects including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and design in the Saturday Art Program at Miami University. Classes are open to the public and are available for children, 4 years and older, and adults.

Goldman Memorial Prize nominations sought
Faculty members are encouraged to remind Miami University seniors to apply for the 2012 Joanna Jackson Goldman Memorial Prize. One of the largest awards of its kind, the Goldman provides approximately $30,000 to support an outstanding Miami graduate's pursuit of a self-designed scholarly service or creative project.

Miami University will commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with a ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, on the front lawn of Roudebush Hall on the Oxford campus.

Howe Writing Center asks input for program review
Miami University's Roger and Joyce Howe Center for Writing Excellence invites faculty, staff and students to help in a program review taking place this fall. Independent external and internal committees are conducting the review to be completed by October.
