Miami University is committed to supporting students and families connected to our nation’s military. As one of the first Purple Star campuses in Ohio, we are proud to be in the top 15 percent of national universities, colleges, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace our country’s veterans, military service members, and dependents as students.

You’ve served us bravely. Now, let us serve you.

Services and Resources

Miami offers a variety of services and resources to help military-affiliated students during their college journey, no matter which campus you decide to attend. From the Student Veterans Center in Oxford to the Student Veterans of America chapters on all three campuses, you will find support systems at Miami.

Veterans Benefits Checklist

This checklist is designed to help you keep track of the steps you must take to secure the benefits you have earned through your service. Follow it closely to make sure you don’t miss any important steps or deadlines. If you have additional questions, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Qualified Dependents

If you are a qualified dependent of a veteran, you can apply to receive funds for tuition, housing, books and supplies. You will need to follow the steps in the Veterans Benefits Checklist in addition to completing a Transfer of Entitlement (TOE).

ROTC Programs

Miami hosts Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) opportunities for students interested in the Air Force and Navy. Xavier University Army ROTC in Cincinnati serves as the host program for Miami ROTC Army cadets. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to serve in the U.S. Military after graduation.
