A.A.S. Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology

Program overview
The ECET program includes course work in both electrical and electronic fields. It provides depth and breadth in electrical fundamentals as well as the advanced technology found in modern electrical and computing systems.
Courses for the Associate ECET program are offered at Miami University's regional locations in Hamilton and Middletown.
Curriculum overview
Students have the opportunity to take courses in analog, digital, and microprocessor-based systems. Hands-on labs reinforce concepts taught in the classroom. Students develop the ability to analyze, synthesize and solve technical problems.
Choice of course topics includes
- circuit analysis and analog electronics
- digital systems
- programmable controllers,
- microprocessor
- personal computer architecture
- local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
Career possibilities for graduates
Graduates of the program work as electronic technicians, electrical maintenance technicians, computer maintenance and network technicians, engineering assistants, and other related paraprofessional positions.
