Center for Teaching and Learning
Our Mission
The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is to embody and promote engagement with scholarly and reflective teaching practices in order to support the intellectual development of faculty, staff, and students on-campus and online.
The Regionals CTL is founded on the principle that a diverse student body, faculty, and staff are Miami Regionals’ greatest resources. Therefore, we work to foster a sense of community and collaboration among all campus educators: full- and part-time faculty, staff, and administrators. The Regionals CTL is committed to advocating for its teachers and learners.
To do this, we will:
- Promote innovative teaching and excellence in teaching and learning.
- Enrich development of teaching through multiple measures of assessment.
- Connect educators with resources to integrate teaching, research, and/or service.
- Nurture a culture of commitment to student learning which stimulates dialogue and reflection about teaching and assessment of student learning.
- Provide seminars, workshops, and working groups on evidence-based teaching and learning practices.
- Create opportunities that foster an inclusive educational community and sense of community and collaboration among faculty.
- Support the scholarship of teaching and learning.
