Job Shadowing
Job shadowing is an effective form of job training for certain jobs. It allows a student, employee, or intern to gain comprehensive knowledge about what an employee, who holds a particular job, does every day. Job shadowing is an unpaid experience, however, it can be invaluable it helping students make career decisions.
In job shadowing, a business typically provides an experience for students to see what it is like to perform a certain type of work by having them accompany an experienced worker as they perform the targeted job.
We encourage students to utilize their network to create an awesome job shadowing experience. The Career Services & Professional Development office also wants to help interested students find these types of experiences, please contact a member of the CSPD staff to learn more about our growing program.
