Miami Bound Pre-Semester Programs

Miami Bound

Miami's pre-semester programs, called Miami Bound programs, present opportunities for new students to engage in learning, leading and connecting to Miami and other new students before fall semester classes begin.

Through Miami Bound programs, new students can meet other new students with common interests, build a community that connects them to Miami, learn about campus services and resources, and get a head start on getting involved. Miami Bound programs are optional and may require an additional cost to participate.

Registration for Miami Bound programs will begin on May 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm Eastern time. New students must be registered for an on-campus orientation session before registering for a Miami Bound programs.

While Miami Bound is an optional experience, we expect all new students to participate in Welcome Weekend and First 50 Days programs. Welcome Weekend takes place in August and includes programs throughout the weekend before classes begin. First 50 Days programming continues through mid-October. The Welcome Weekend and First 50 Days schedule includes programs designed to support new student transitions to campus and success both inside and outside the classroom. Learn more about plans for Welcome Weekend and First 50 Days programs on our website; the full schedule of programs will be available in early August.

Programs marked with an asterisk (*) begin after international student orientation ends and are open to international students. New international students should refer to their Miami University email to register for Miami Bound.

Domestic students who are participating in the fall semester orientation program on August 23-24 are not able to participate in Miami Bound due to conflicting schedules.
