How to Use the Student Health Service

No one plans to be sick, but it’s always good to have a plan. Knowing a few facts about the operation of the Student Health Service (SHS) gives your student the basis for a good strategy.

The SHS is located 500 Harris Drive. We offer outpatient care and are staffed with physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing personnel. Other services include lab, gynecology, immunizations, a visiting orthopedist and a visiting physical therapist. Hours can be found on the contact us page.

Summer hours may be different than the academic year.

An appointment is the best way to access our services. Appointments can be made online or by phone at 513-529-3000. For specialty departments – gynecology, overseas immunizations and ortho/physical therapy – appointments must be made on the phone or in person. We will accommodate walk-ins as best we can.

Most students are able to walk to the Student Health Service for their appointment. There is a BCRTA bus stop near our building. Students with disabilities may contact ADA Transport at 513-785-5237.

Students are asked to bring a legal ID (e.g. driver's license, passport) and their insurance card to each appointment. Photocopies and electronic copies of insurance cards are acceptable.

Community Resources

For services we are unable to provide (dental, allergy shots, optometry), we will put the student in touch with a local professional.

Although your student is medically treated as an adult, we recognize your ability to support their navigation through new policies and requirements.
