ARC buildingThe Applied Research Center utilizes state-of-the art computer technology and its staff has extensive expertise in advanced statistical analysis, computer presentations, desktop publishing, GIS mapping, and other current software applications. The Applied Research Center is also directly connected to Miami University’s high speed data network and servers.

In addition to standard paper surveys, the Applied Research Center’s staff is proficient with multiple methods of survey design and implementation, including PDA, Web-based, and scannable surveys that can be efficiently scanned directly into a computer database for timely analysis and reporting. SHERLOCK and OhioLink computer systems provide electronic access to Miami’s and other universities’ library holdings.

Internet access allows for immediate communication with clients and electronic transmission of documents. The Applied Research Center continually seeks to update its survey and data technologies to ensure the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of data collection, analysis and reporting.
