Senators received several consent calendar items and opted to pull two items on the topics of 1) elimination of majors from curricular items and 2) department planning and improvement. Senators received special reports on the Ryan Center proposal from Dean Jenny Darroch and Associate Dean Melissa Thomasson. They heard a presentation from Vice President Susan McDowell on the management of conflicts of interest in projects with external funding. They were provided a presentation on the Department of Comparative Religion's recommendations concerning their department's planned elimination from Dr. Nathan French and chair, James C. Hanges. In new business, Senators heard a proposal regarding a proposed Master of Engineering program in Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing Engineering from department chair, Kumar Singh.
