Minutes of the University Senate meeting for February 26, 2024, were approved with two minor revisions.

Old business included a discussion regarding the elimination of majors and presentation by Martha Castaneda, Professor from the Department of Teaching, Curriculum, and Educational Inquiry. 

New business included a presentation on a proposal regarding the Recording Two Minute Speeches Before Senate by Nathan French, Associate Professor, Department of Comparative Religion, and Rosemary Pennington, Associate Professor and Journalism Area Coordinator - Media, Journalism, and Film.

A special report was provided by Zeb Baker on the Honors College. Amity Noltemeyer, Interim Dean of EHS, and Matt Moore, Chair and Associate Professor of Family Science and Social Work, presented a proposal for a Center for Global Mental Health in Sports.

Provost Mullenix gave a brief update including the notation of a revised process for gathering feedback for the evaluation of administrators during status quo and a note to watch for a recent email distributed to seek nominations for MiamiTHRIVE strategic planning participation.
