University Senate action Dec. 7

On Monday, Dec. 7, University Senate heard a report from:

* Yvette Harris, 2015-2016 chair, Executive Committee of University Senate
New Business:

* Proposed Revisions to MUPIM 6.3, 7.1.C, 7.1.E, 7.5.A, and 7.11.F.3

With the approval of the November 30, 2015 full minutes, University Senate endorsed the following resolution.

SR 16-03November 30, 2015

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate approve the six new departments at the Regional Campuses:

• Social and Behavioral Studies
• Education and Society
• Biological Sciences
• Mathematical and Physical Sciences
• Humanities and Creative Arts
• Languages, Literatures, and Writing

SR16-03 passed by roll call vote: Aye - 43, Nay - 1, and Abstention – 1

Twenty-five members of Faculty Assembly can challenge the resolution by filing a petition with the Office of the University Secretary during the ten class days after publication in the Miami Wire.
