Miami University’s Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies (AIMS) was ranked among the “57 Best Video Game Colleges” by SuccessfulStudent.org.
AIMS ranks No. 36 on the list. Established in 1996, it is one of the oldest new media programs in the country. Miami’s institute offers undergraduate, graduate certification and graduate programs. AIMS students explore the intersection of technology and design business.
Students can choose from four focus areas: Digital Innovation Centers, Center for Research in User Experience, Games Lab, John Smale Visualization Lab and Center.
More than 300 students are enrolled in Miami's Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies.
Students also have access to the Huge Immersive Virtual Environment (HIVE) on Miami’s Oxford campus. This is one of the largest physical spaces in the world dedicated to virtual environments, according to Glenn Platt, AIMS director.
SuccessfulStudent.org created the rankings using criteria including well-rounded academics, cost, cutting-edge technological instruction and career prospects in the gaming industry.
