New student trustee appointed to board

megan-creamansMegan Cremeans, a sophomore, was newly appointed to Miami University’s Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. John Kasich to replace Alexandra Boster, whose term recently ended.

Cremeans began her term on March 1, 2018, will serve for two years, and will participate as a nonvoting member.

Cremeans is a double major in political science and adolescent and young adult integrated social studies education. She is a member of the Governmental Relations Network and the Janus Steering Committee and serves as a divisional representative for the Law and Policy Scholars. In addition, she serves as an adviser to a 4-H club in her hometown, Somerset, Ohio.

Cremeans’ passion is to explore the ways in which democracy and education are intertwined, with special concentration in public school funding in the state of Ohio. She is committed to equitable education and empowering students and communities and aims to promote these values as a student trustee. She will graduate from the university in spring 2020.
