Governor appoints new member to board of trustees

Zachary HainesOn Feb. 27, Gov. John Kasich appointed Zachary Haines, CEO of DPA Buying Group, to Miami University’s board of trustees. His term began on March 1, 2018.  

Haines is a 4th generation Miamian and graduated in 2005 with a degree in zoology and a minor in history. At Miami, Haines was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He currently is the national historian and archivist for Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.

He is an active member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). He also chairs an annual patriotic essay contest for high school students within the Cincinnati area and presents medals to ROTC cadets and midshipmen.

Haines and his wife Brittany (Miami ’06) currently reside in Cincinnati with their two sons.

Haines will serve on the board until 2027 and replaces Dennis Lieberman, whose term ended in February.
