Because COVID-19 has made in-person exercise challenging, recreation officials began exploring options in the spring.

“Too many logistics issues came out for us to create our own online classes,” said Mike Arnos, senior director of programs & academic partnerships. “Caravan was able to offer high quality, low-cost opportunities that met the university accessibility requirements.”

Miami plans to offer the service through the end of the spring semester, Arnos said. Officials will then “reevaluate for the future whether we can provide it as a free service, paid service or, as we move back into a less-COVID world, if we will not have enough interest for the service.”
