Authors, Accolades and Achievements

This month, Miami University students earned a record 10 first-place and nine finalist awards for 2020 journalism work entered in the prestigious Mark of Excellence competition. A total of 22 Miami students won recognition. The awards – presented by the Society of Professional Journalists during a Saturday virtual conference – put Miami at No. 2 in SPJ’s Region 4 for 2020 Mark of Excellence awards.

The DOE Office of Science recently published a highlight, “Bringing the Power of Chemical Fuels to Artificial Building Blocks” about scientific research conducted by C. Scott Hartley, Volweiler Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. This work was supported by the Department of Energy Office of Science, Basic Energy Sciences program. 

Arthur Carvalho, assistant professor of information systems and analytics, was interviewed for a LifeWire article looking at how blockchain could change virtual reality programs.

A writeup about the recent LIFE Research Conference by Amanda Lawson was featured in Faith Driven Entrepreneur.

Professor of management Megan Gerhardt’s forthcoming book, Gentelligence, was reviewed in Publisher's Weekly.

Scott Dust, assistant professor of management, and FSB graduates Rachel Cleveland and Anthony Massa wrote an article for Psychology Today on "3 Ways Gen Z Can Help Address the Future of Work" was reviewed in Publisher's Weekly.
