Jim Reid

Jim Reid is the field manager of the Miami University Natural Areas. The Miami alumnus has worked at Miami for 14 years. Reid is passionate about nature and photography.

Q: What are some of the things you like most about Miami?

A: The people, its location in a small town, high standards and academic excellence.

Q: What is your position at Miami?

A: I manage the 1,000 acres and 17 miles of trails that comprise the Miami University Natural Areas.

Q: What would people be surprised to know about you?

A: I have knitted two sweaters.

Q: What’s your favorite book?

A: On China by Henry Kissinger,
    The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown,
    The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and
    Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela.

Q: What’s your favorite spot on campus?

A: The bird blind and butterfly garden in the Natural Areas
