Student-athletes finish spring semester with strong GPA

Two-thirds of the entire population of Miami University student-athletes finished the spring semester with a 3.0 grade-point average or higher to help the entire group compile a 3.301 GPA in the spring, the second-highest GPA for a single semester in Miami athletics history.

Miami student-athletes achieved at least a 3.12 GPA in every semester since the 2011 spring semester and 17 of Miami’s 19 teams recorded at least a 3.0 combined GPA.

“I like the sense that we are all on the same page at Miami University,” said Craig Bennett, assistant athletic director for academic support services. “From our diligent students, coaches, faculty, advisers, support staff members, tutors and university president, everyone wants the same result: student success.”

Beyond that, the RedHawks had 40 student-athletes achieve perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring. (See the list of students at www.MiamiRedHawks.com.)
