Miami University one of The Princeton Review's outstanding institutions

Miami University is one of 386 colleges recognized as the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review.

Only about 14% of America’s 2,800 four-year colleges are profiled in the just-released The Princeton Review’s Best 386 Colleges Guide.

The company selects colleges for the book based on data it annually collects from administrators at hundreds of colleges about their institutions’ academic offerings.

Among Miami students surveyed, some said, the curriculum offers “a challenging academic workload” that tests a student’s abilities and “prepares students for the workplace after graduation.” Some said Miami is “the perfect size” and that the campus has a “plethora of student activities” that “makes it possible to find groups or organizations that can fit any student’s interest.”

The Princeton Review, an education services company, does not rank the colleges in the guide from 1 to 386. Instead, the schools are rated in various categories including academics, quality of life, admissions selectivity, financial aid, fire safety and green.

Miami also appears on the 2020 list for Best Value Colleges, released earlier this year by The Princeton Review.

Graduates of Miami consistently report high placement rates. According to Miami’s office of institutional research, Oxford campus 2018-2019 graduates with bachelor’s degrees report a 96% success rate, with an average full-time salary of $53,7592. Graduates are considered successfully placed if they are employed, enrolled, serving in the military, or serving in a volunteer or service program by Dec. 31, 2019.
