Filing a false police report is a crime

Before you begin, be sure you have a valid email address and you have all the information related to the incident available in front of you.

If the incident you are reporting does not meet the criteria listed in the online report form, you will need to contact the Miami University Police Department Non-Emergency number 513-529-2222 to determine if an officer should respond.

Upon Completion of an Online Report

  • You will see "Your online police report has been submitted".
  • You will be given a temporary online police report reference number.
  • You will be notified of any problems with your report once it has been viewed by Police Personnel.
  • All police reports filed online will be reviewed by Police Personnel before being accepted by the Miami University Police Department.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.

Filing a False Police Report is a CRIME under Federal and State Laws.  Please refer to Ohio Revised Code 2917.32(A)(3).
