Student Service Leadership Awards

In an effort to recognize outstanding service to the campus and the community, the following awards are made available to undergraduate students through a grant from the Miami University Family Fund. Nominations are solicited in January and early February each year, with recognition ceremonies in April and May.

President's Distinguished Service Award

The President's Distinguished Service Award is presented to a select group of students whose service demonstrates the spirit of being a citizen leader of uncommon quality. Eligible students for 2020 include December 2019 and January 2020 graduates, and those preparing to graduate in May and August 2020. A written nomination letter is required for this award. Nominations are evaluated by a Reading Committee, composed of faculty and staff from Oxford, Middletown, and Hamilton campuses. Academic performance and student disciplinary records are considered during this process. Recipients are honored at a ceremony in April and receive a distinctive medallion to wear with their commencement robes.
