Undergraduate Admission

To be admitted into a music degree program as an undergraduate at Miami University, you must:
- apply to Miami University; and
- apply to the Department of Music.
These are two separate, distinct processes. You may apply to Miami University and to the Department of Music concurrently. There is no need for you to wait to learn your admission decision from the University before applying to the Department.
Apply to Miami University
- Visit the appropriate page for your area of interest within the Department of Music under Academics.
- Review the University Application Deadlines.
- Visit the Office of Admission website, and complete your university application. We encourage you to apply to the university at your earliest convenience.
Apply to the Department of Music

- Apply to the Department of Music via Acceptd, and arrange for a live audition.
- If you are unable to audition in person, you may upload video of your audition via Acceptd instead.
- Applying via Acceptd is free: the Department of Music waives any Acceptd application fee.
Music Talent Scholarships
Undergraduate applicants may be considered for a music talent scholarship. These awards are distinct and in addition to any academic merit scholarships that may be offered by the university. Music talent scholarship decisions are made at the time of audition. To be considered for a music talent scholarship, undergraduate applicants must have their audition materials evaluated no later than March 1.
