How do I move my data?

We recommend moving personal data out of your Miami account well before the Summer 2024 deadline, even for folks who are not currently over their quota (please see the quotas page for specifics about how much storage you get based on your role). There are several different options for moving your data out of your Miami account and to a personal account (Google or otherwise).

If you want to download a copy of your data for storing in a different online account or moving to a new email account (not Google):

If you have another Google Mail (Gmail) account and wish to transfer all of your Miami data to that account, please refer to this article:

YouTube accounts associated with your Miami account require a little more finesse. Please allot at minimum seven (7) days to transfer ownership of a YouTube account. 

What about files that have been shared with me?

If desired, you will need to download files that have been shared with you separate of the Google Takeout utility. Please refer to this article for instructions:

You can also make a copy of the file to keep in your own Drive.
