Dr. Jim Kiper is stepping down as CSE department chair
For the last decade, Dr. Kiper has led the CSE department and oversaw an incredible 358% increase in students earning degrees from the department.

This week, DesignRush, a B2B marketplace that connects brands with agencies, released a list of non-ivy league, higher education institutions where companies can find talented software engineers to hire.

Two professors receive 2020 Outstanding Faculty Research Award
Dr. Jason Berberich, Associate Professor in the CPB department, and Dr. Andrew Sommers, Associate Professor in the MME department, are the joint recipients of the award. The two have established collaborations with researchers both within and outside of Miami University.

Incoming Dean receives Inclusive Culture and Equity Award
The Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN) has awarded Miami's incoming CEC dean, Dr. Beena Sukumaran, with this year's WEPAN Inclusive Culture and Equity Award.

Dr. Jessica Sparks awarded Teaching Excellence Award
Dr. Sparks teaches courses in mechanics as well as the introductory level chemical/bioengineering course. In the classroom, she exemplifies excellence through her creativity, passion, knowledge, and concern for students.

Dr. Scott Campbell receives 2020 CEC Outstanding Service award
Dr. Campbell, Senior Director of Technology and instructor, was selected for his hard work and dedication to both CEC and the university as a whole. Over his past two decades at Miami, he has gone above and beyond in his position and his efforts to improve the IT department in CEC.
