Miami University is listed four times on the 2020 Best Colleges national rankings by GradReports.com for bachelor’s degree programs.

GradReports.com uses student success data from the Department of Education.

Taking the No.1 spot among public universities in the public relations category is Miami’s strategic communication major. The major is within the department of media, journalism and film. It placed No. 7 overall (among public and private schools). Journalism ranked No. 13 among public schools and No. 25 overall.

“In the last number of years, our majors in journalism and strategic communication have built on their strong foundations to become truly outstanding programs,” said Bruce Drushel, chair of the department of media, journalism and film.

“The evidence of that is in the success our graduates have had in their professional careers, landing good positions with respected organizations, as well as in the positive critical response their work has earned from internship sites and professional competitions.”

Ranking No. 4 among public schools are Miami’s marketing and business management programs within the Farmer School of Business. Both are ranked No. 10 overall.

“We believe the emphasis we place on communication and leadership skills, as well as our students’ experience working with clients on projects and in internships, translates into graduates who are beyond ready to seamlessly transition to the workforce,” said Marc Rubin, dean of the Farmer School of Business.
