The Roger and Joyce Howe award is given each spring to an individual or team of Miami faculty members who have made a concerted and continuing effort to innovate writing instruction.

Results are in for the Howe Writing Center's Fall 2021 Flash Photo Fiction contest. Em Updyke (Marketing) took first-prize honors. Runner-up was Sam Fouts (Creative Writing) with Dalanie Beach (Creative Writing) in third place. Valerie Senkowski (Health, Education, and Society) earned staff choice recognition and Charles Xie (Chemistry) earned an honorable mention.
