Program Details

Move-in date: August 21, 2023; 9 a.m.

Program start: August 21, 2023; 3 p.m.

Program end: August 24, 2023 (All Koschik and Hara Summer Bridge to Success Bootcamp attendees are also required to participate in MADE at Miami from August 22 - August 24.)

Eligibility: Domestic first-year students in the HASS and Dean's STEMM Scholars Programs

Program cost: The LEADS Institute in the College of Arts and Science will cover all housing, meals, and activities for the pre-semester bootcamp.

About Koschik and Hara Summer Bridge to Success Bootcamp

The Koschik and Hara Summer Bridge to Success Bootcamp is sponsored by the LEADS Institute, an Academic Excellence and Leadership Accelerator, in the College of Arts and Science. This pre-semester bootcamp is only open to incoming first-year high-achieving students who have received notification from the Program Director that they have officially been enrolled in one of the LEADS Institute's signature programs: the Humanities and Social Science (HASS) Scholars Program or the Dean's STEMM Scholars Program. The Koschik and Hara Summer Bridge to Success Bootcamp is required for all incoming first-year HASS and STEMM scholars.

All Koschik and Hara Summer Bridge to Success Bootcamp attendees are also required to participate in MADE at Miami (Tuesday, August 22 - Thursday, August 24, 2023).

Program Goals:

  • Learn strategies for academic success (study and time management skills).
  • Network with College of Arts and Science and Miami University faculty, administrator and staff.
  • Connect with your personal Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Science.
  • Review mathematics, chemistry, and biology concepts (STEMM Scholars).
  • Build a sense of community and belonging (peers, staff, faculty).
  • Increase knowledge of campus resources and academic support services.
  • Build confidence in making the transition to college.
  • Participate in professional development and team building activities.
